Book Week

Date: Term 3 Week 5

Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week.

Education Weeek Open day

Date: Term 3 Week 3

Time: Various (See School Bytes Parent Portal)

School open days are an opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school.

P&C meetings

Date: Twice per term. These are advertised in newsletters and on the P&C chat.

Time: Usually 2.30pm

Join our vibrant P&C. Meetings are held twice every term in the school Library. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Fortnightly assemblies

Date: Fortnightly on Fridays

Time: 9.20am

Join us to celebrate the achievements of our students. Parents and families are welcome to come along to our fortnighly assemblies. We advertise the award winners on our LED sign at the front of the school and in our fortnightly newsletters.

Books in Homes

Date: Last assembly in Terms 1, 2 and 4.

Time: 9.20am

Books in Homes® is a foundation that provides books-of-choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances, ensuring crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement. Sandy Hollow Public School students are lucky enough to have Books in Homes three times each year. Parents are invited to attend our book giving assemblies, which are held with the last assembly in Terms 1, 2 and 4.

Remembrance Day

Date: 11 November every year

Time: 10.30am

Every year we remember the anniversary of the Armistice of 1918 that ended fighting in World War I. Students lay a wreath and a poppy for each of the local servicemen who lost their lives in the war. All members of the school and wider community are invited to attend this event.
