Our extra-curricular highlights
Sporting and Accademic Competitions
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through public speaking, the Premier's Spelling Bee and combined school sporting events. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
STEM
We have weekly technology lessons at school and enjoy trips to the Muswellbrook Shire Council STEM Innovation Lab. We also compete in the YANCOAL Science and Engineering Challenge.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world. Our 3-6 class participates in overnight excursions with other small schools each year, and our K-2 class enjoys various cultural and science based excursions. We also enjoy a fun 'whole school' excursion each year and visit places such as GJ's by the Lake, Muswellbrook Aquatic Centre or the STEM Innovation Lab in Muswellbrook.
GRIP Leadership Conference
Each year our school leadership team travel to Newcastle to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference. They come away with skills and ideas to improve their experience as leaders of the school.
